"Night of the Living Soil" Compost Grave Installations

DON'T MISS OUT - OCTOBER 2024 ONLY!!

As the temperatures start to drop, OCASA is really getting into the holiday spirit this year.

Introducing…

🥁🥁🥁

(Skeleton not included)

“Night of the Living Soil,” a brand new, seasonal tombstone and compost grave installation for the first 35 new or renewed members of 2024-25!

"Night of the Living Soil" installations feature spooky, customizable tombstones handmade from reclaimed wood and placed at the head of a fresh “grave” of organic compost delivered for free to your home by our partner at Fertile Ground Cooperative during the month of October.

Some fine print:

      • At this time, “Night of the Living Soil” installations are only available to new or renewing 2024-25 OCASA members located in central Oklahoma: Oklahoma City, Edmond, Moore, Norman, Bethany, Warr Acres, Piedmont, Yukon, Mustang, The Village, Nichols Hills, Jones, Arcadia, Midwest City, Del City, Choctaw, Nicoma Park, or Spencer.
      • Installations include a very small yard sign with QR code directing folks to the OCASA website with compost resources and more information about OCASA membership and the "Night of the Living Soil" membership campaign.
      • The tombstones are handmade from pallet wood recovered before it reached the landfill. Each one is unique and comes with lots of character.
      • You can opt-out and your compost and tombstone will go to the next member in line.

When the Halloween season is over, you’ll have a few options:

    1. Spread the compost across your lawn as a nutrient-rich top dressing!
    2. Request a packet of native wildflower seeds, add your choice of border, and plant a pollinator garden right at the gravesite!
    3. Keep the tombstone in place all year to continue to promote compost!!
    4. If you don’t want to keep the tombstone in storage all year, you can simply drop it off at Fertile Ground Cooperative (2228 S Santa Fe Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73109) and we’ll re-use it next year!

Due to limited supplies available, we ask that you redeem your “Night of the Living Soil” installation by checking your membership welcome email.

Don't forget to find us on social media (links below) and send us pictures of your "living soil" graves and your new pollinator beds in the spring!

If you have any questions, just give us a blood curdling scream or a werewolf howl to the moon and if those don’t work, drop us an email at info@okcompostconference.org.

Happy Halloween!
